    Welcome to Crappie.com !!

Secondly ... get yourself a copy of the "KY Fishing & Boating Guide" ... a free publication from KDFWR ... available at bait/tackle shops & Wal-Marts, etc.

    To answer your questions :

With a KY license ... you can fish KY Lake, all the way into Tenn as far as the McWhorter Bridge (US 79/Hwy 76) ... which is just North of the Paris Landing State Park.
With a Tenn license ... you can fish all of KY Lake, that's within Tenn ... and up into KY as far as Eggner's Ferry Bridge (US 68/80).
The Reciprocal License Agreement, between KY & TN, is basically allowing either state's license holder to fish all the coves/bays between the two bridges ... except for Blood River, and I think you have to have a KY license, there.

Currently ... KY has a 20fish daily creel limit & 10" size limit on Crappie. TN has the same size limit, but their daily creel limit is still 30fish/day. They're in talks, about decreasing the daily creel ... but, I don't think it's passed any new limit laws, yet.

I've never fished below (South of) the US68/80 bridge ... so I can't offer you any info on potential places. Maybe some of the other KY members will chime in. You might also want to post on the Tenn State Board ... or just keep an eye out for any info posted there.

If you have a KY license, you are good anywhere north of the 79 bridge at Paris Landing.

    Question Got a question

This may sound stupid but... If a person holds a Ky. and a Tn. licence and fishes this area we are talking about does this allow him to catch 20 fish on his Ky. licence and 30 fish on his Tn. licence in the same day?

I don't think that would be right if you could.

Lungbuster and I were just talking about that

I don't think it's legal, since you'd be "in possession" of more than a days limit.
Lungbuster is going to contact KDFWR and check things out. I've asked him to post his findings, here, so that all of us can get the skinny on this.

I wonder if you could fish TN, catch a limit, process them then go to KY and do it again?

If I were in Ky. I would be 10 over but... if I were in Tn. I would be 10 under.

I believe if you get checked the officer is gonna let you pick 1 of the licences to be under and go from there.

If you caught 30 in TN & 20 in KY ... on the same day's outing ... you'd be 30 OVER in KY & 20 OVER in TN :D (since you'd have a total of 50 fish for that one day's total)

Remember - creel limit is "per one day's outing" ... possession limit is what you have in your possession (accumulative) "after each day's outing". By that reasoning, you'd be breaking both laws (creel & possession) in both states if you caught 50 fish in one day, even though you fished in two different states and on two legal licenses.

I seriously doubt that the Officer would be that accomodating, to let you choose which license to show ... and it wouldn't matter to him/her WHERE you caught the fish -- just how many you had, when checked (in your camp OR your boat). :p

We'll know soon as Lungbuster gets ahold of KDFWR and poses the questions

I put a call into KDFWR and the agent that answered the phone could not answer my quesiton. I was then referred to Mike Fields. He was unavailable and I left a voicemail.

    I will post his answer.
