    Default Kentucky Lake

I am planning a trip to Kentucky Lake to get away around July 7. I know its not the best time, but can anyone help me with places to stay and/or fish? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Stay at one of the state parks: KenLake and the nicest is Lake Barkley State Park. Food is good and your boat will be safe with plenty of places to plug inand charge the batteries. Fish at night if you can under lanterns or green lights. Try Blood River. Eat at Patties Settlement in Grand Rivers. It is about a 20 or 30 minute drive, but you just haven't been to KY Lake into you dive into a 2" pork chop. Well worth the money but make a reservation. Good luck....

Check out Moor's, Big Bear, Green turtle bay for accommodations. Fishing I would be hitting the Whites and Hybrids in the jumps. Try straight across the channel from the canal on Barkley. Look for fish busting the shad and throw a slab spoon or white rooster tail.

    Default Anytime

Anytime on the water is better than working. I have stayed at Big Bear many times and they are close to good fishing. There is also a public boat ramp right by them at the end of Big Bear Rd.
Also there is a small Mom and Pop type motel on hwy 641 south of the dam a few miles. I think it is called Bel Air or something like that. Real nice folks, clean, nothing fancy but nice people and priced right. They have small kitchenetts. I have stayed there a couple times also. South of that there is a resturaunt called the catfish kitchen or something. GOOOOOOOOD food. They have a pond right outside the window so you can eat and watch huge catfish swim by.
Damn I got to go, now im getting hungry.
    Good luck and enjoy
Crappie spawning and morels popping up at the same time. What was God thinking when he made that schedule. It's pure torture every spring deciding which to do.
