Enjoyed it Fred, in spite of the ugly weather.

Fred & I hooked up this morning around 7AM, for our planned trip to Herrington. Little on the windy side, breeze was cool, and intermittent rain/mist ... lake falling. We fished for several hours, trying various spots, and caught a few. Most were right close to the bank & in the brush/trash/logjams. Tally came to one 11" White Crappie female in the livewell, and half a dozen or so throwbacks. Falling water has pulled them back off the banks, and effectively shut down the heavy pullage that Fred and friends had been experiencing, earlier in the week. Plan B was then put into effect :p
Plan B was to take out of Herrington and head to Cedar Creek. Pretty sure we'd get into some pullage, there ... even if it was only hand sized fish :D

Put in at Cedar Creek and fished most of the rest of the day. We started catching fish, right off the bat ... found all of them to be holding close to the bank & in 1-3ft of water, in the fallen tree branches & shallow stumps. Tally for that portion of the day ... somewhere between 75-100 fish ... seriously !! Most every spot we stopped at, we'd catch 8 or 10. Sometimes, they were so shallow, we were actually "site fishing" for them :p And I don't know how many times we dropped our jig down in the water, or flipped or cast it out, and watched the fish come up and take it .... LOL !! We even tried to come up with a jig body color that they wouldn't bite but couldn't ... even with some very garish colors. Towards the end of the day, I did manage to catch a 10" Black Crappie male ... FIRST actual "keeper" sized Crappie that I've ever caught from Cedar Creek .... and naturally it comes after they've removed the size limit .... LOL !!
