I gave up testing the kids a couple of years ago and now am testing the waters! This is my worst year so far, but they'll come around soon!!

Today was another good day fishing. We caught fish shallow early 5-8' and then had to do lots of hunting and searching. Half a day of fishing and ended up with 28 keepers and a very mixed bag(males to females).LOTS OF LITTLE FISH. The fish have seemed to run to the banks again and the most productive method is probably spider rigging.

@$@#!!!!! work!......I guesss i'm just going to have quit reading these boards through the week when I'm having to work! If the rain will hold off on Friday, I'm inclined to give them a try. Hope they'll keep biting till then.

Fished Friday, Sat. & Sunday. Friday was a little tough after the earthquake in the morning, but I did really well that afternoon casting jigs to brush in 6' to 8' of water. This same bite continued through Sunday afternoon and it got better each day. The fish I was catching were right on the bottom and you were pulling them thru the brush/stakes when you caught them. Numbers were pretty good as we had limits of crappie and yellow bass Sat. & Sunday, but the size of the fish were unbelievable! Sat. we had (4) over 2 lbs. and Sun. we had (3) over 2 lbs. and the average fish was probably 13 - 13.5" and full of eggs. 90% of the crappie were white females full of eggs. GET TO THE LAKE IMMEDIATELY.....this is as good as it is going to get this year for the crappie!!!!

I can't get there until next Thursday. Hopefully there will be a few left. Can someone suggest a place to stay. I need a hotel where my boat won't get stolen that is near Blood River. I would prefer not having to tak eout a new mortgage also.
