Went back to Herrington today (against my better judgement) after practically getting skunked yesterday and my oh my how the minner turns. I got my limit of crappie at herrington for the first time ever(at least that I can remember, heh heh. Hit a sweet spot that accounted for about 15 on main lake and picked up the rest of my limit in a creek. Fishing minners on slip bobber of course 1-3 ft deep in 1-10 ft of water. Beautiful day it was. Pictures follow:

want eggs?
Fred-in-KY & I were down there this morning, in the rain/drizzle/wind ... and couldn't buy a decent fish (Bryant's to nearly up to the Hogback). We went to Cedar Creek, just to save the day, and get a little pullage. :D
Then, here you go talkin "Limits" ... :p
Don't know "when" you got into them, and don't know "where" you got into them .... but, you & momma deserve a couple of "attaboys" for a job well done !!

crappiepappy,
Momma stayed home after the frustrations of the day before, said she had her fill of fishing after 7 days of fishing. She probably had enough of being in the same boat with me more than likely, though.:DI actually started catching as soon as my first minnow hit the water and caught six in a row up in a small cove very close to Bryants launch, then hit a honey hole up river a little farther on the main lake where we had pulled a few scattered slabs out in the past few days. Did my best around the noon hour and it slacked off around 2 then picked up again around 5. I pulled out at around 6pm with my limit. Probably never happen again, I am thoroughly convinced it was one of those blessed days that happen once in a blue moon, much like the character in "Caddyshack" who has the game of his life and nothing can stop him. Momma just came in and says she is going with me today, this is our last day of vacation, gotta go, my expectations are tempered after yesterday.:D
Minner,
Good luck tommorrow on your last day of vacation.

Good job!! Looks like CP and I should have been with you or at least borrowed some minners from ya! :D

Went to Herrington today. Did not even get close to limit, but had a good day. Put in at Bryants and fished that area for a while and managed only 1 keeper. Ran to Gwinn Island and fished Spears Creek and got 4 keepers. I fished around structure with minnows under slip bobbers and was fishing about 3-4 feet deep. Looks like they are pulling the lake; that makes fishing a bit tougher. I am going to head back down next weekend and give it another try. Hope the crappie bite for a while longer. I did catch some small bass (10-12 inches) while casting jigs.

My wife and I were fishing past Bryants just upriver yesterday where I slayed them on Saturday and we did terrible. There was a tremendous difference from Sat. to Sun. It seemed really dead, we ended up with 2 small non-keepers and 1 10 pound catfish which I proudly landed on my 12 ft. graphite crappie rod on 6lb. test line. It took quite a while to wear it out but we boated it. Once I figure out how to download the pictures from my wifes cell phone I'll post em. It seems like all week when we fished herrington it was 1 day on, then 1 day off, 1 day on, 1 day off. Everyone we talked to yesterday was having the same results, can't figure it out.![]()
Herrington will humble the best of fisherman. Don't be worry about it, next time you go they will be jumping in the boat. I know it all to well. Must have something to do with you can go from o' to 250' of water in about 20 yards in some places:D
I'll be after them Wed this week. Will let ya know how I come out. Y'all did real good last week and keep it up. I think I may have seen y'all down there Friday evening. I was fishing up above the blue bridge just a couple hundred yards and saw a boat with a man and woman in it that looks like y'all anyway!
