Default Coming To Jonathon Creek, Thursday 3/27

Hello everyone! I'm a long time reader and 1st time poster here at Crappie.com. I'm coming to visit my Dad and his wife at Pirate's Cove tomorrow with my step-son. We'll be down for a week at least and may stay a couple of extra days depending on business at home and the weather. I've been tracking lake levels through the online sites and reading reports from this awesome site. Looks like everything continues to be flooded.

My question is this...how long would the lake have to stay up for the crappie to come up in the flooded area? Is it mainly dependent on the water temp. and if so, shouldn't the temp be coming up pretty quick with the warmer days and nights coming up?

I will have access to a boat but I enjoy fishing the banks too, especially when the wind is up.

Me and my stepson having been looking forward to this trip for months. Here's hoping that the fish cooperate!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

The fish have been up in the flooded area, but a cold front seemed to knock them back out. As long as it stays up or holds steady, you'll see them there soon.

My dad's family is from your neck of the woods. The big cities of Avenstoke and Alton.

Ahhh... the greater metropolitan Alton area!:D

Actually my Dad lived in Alton up until he retired a few years ago and moved to Hardin.

    Small world!
