    Default Kentucky Lake Maps

Are the Kentucky Lake HydroGrafx side scan maps worth buying. I have never been and will be at Paris Landing next weekend.

Yes, they are worth the money. Mind you, they don't show much in shallow water, so they won't help much when the fish are shallow and spawning.

    Hi Broken-back,
I suggest that you contact the owner of http://www.kentuckyhydrografx.com/. His name is Pat Hahs. He is a great guy and is very helpful. You will not be sorry if you want some good maps of struture (sidescan maps) and contour maps of Ky and Barkley Lakes. As far as your questions.

    1. I use a program called Oziexplorer to upload and download waypoints from these maps to my GPS.

    2. No, you cannot download the topos to your GPS.

Again contact Pat, he is a straight shooter that will not try to sell you something that you don't need.

we purchased the maps and they are great....you cant download the maps to your gps that I know of but what we did was study the map on our pc at home, find likely looking spots that we wanted to fish and downloaded all the gps coordinates to our lawrance with a cross reference notation stating how deep the water is etc.....worked out great

    CrappieCrazy,
    Thanks,

I bought the Side scan and topo's for big sandy....

I will call Pat and see if there are any tips to be given.

Do you mark a waypoint for each structure or just an area to fish?

I see with oziexployer you can draw a line on the map to mark defined ledges you want to follow. I suppose if you mark these ledges on your topo map you could print it out for a reference. Would be nice if you could download the topo mars and use for navigtion purposes...The same line can be included in your side scan download (I THINK)

Just got my maps so I got some experimenting to do..

Yes I see tons of structure on sidescan...Sometimes it hard for me to determine all the structure...It loooks as though some structure could be natural stumps or man made stump beds...

    Thanks again for your help...

I just veiw the map in sections at 75% till I see something then blow it up 125% and mark it!!
