    Default Kentucky Lake Report

Thursday.......didn't do squat in Blood River....drum were biting pretty good.

Friday..... kept 16 in Big Sandy in 1/2 day fishing ....spider rig fishing 12' deep over 20' to 23' of water.

Saturday.... kept 44 REALLY NICE crappie from Big Sandy in 1/2 day fishing .... spider rig fishing 8' to 11' deep over 14' of water.

Sunday.... kept 17 in Big Sandy in 1/2 day fishing .... spider rig fishing 12' deep over 14' of water.

Yellow and red caught the most fish and the big ones came on bright pink all tipped w/ small minnows.

I know Blood River pretty well and have done great there the last few years and this was my first time in Big Sandy. However, it seems like there are 100 times more fish down there for whatever reason? There were lots of guys just randomly floating around w/ the wind catching several fish. I hope Blood gets good since that is where my cabin is at, but for now I'd be spending my time in Big Sandy.

I'll try to remeber to post a pic of our catch a little later this week.....I think the fish may have went shallower on us on Sunday and we just didn't adjust as the water temps were coming up pretty fast.

Casey...glad you had a good time and caught some nice fish. Let's just be a little more careful about telling everyone there are more fish in Big Sandy. It's not really true, you just did a good job finding the few that live there. :D
