It was just 10 or 12 locals that "battled it out" for bragging rights and a little prize money. I think it was about $25 entry fee including big fish.Quote:

I would be interested in fishin some lakes in KY. Our club is going to be fishing KY Lake some in the future!
We could pick a few different lakes to do over different parts of the state and just have a tournament of some sorts and have people bring some grub for a cookout of some sort maybe. The one's I used to do at Rough River where fun but it was always a local boy who won. His home lake, his money to take, but regardless, it was fun. I thought I scored a trip to Weiss Lake last night because my brother-in-law is getting married about one hour away, but I just can't work it into the schedule. It was heartbreaking news to find out I will be that close and not get to fish, but have to make the wife happy.
Was it crappie or bass?
The tournaments I used to do at Rough River were for crappie and they ran these every other weekend. The weekend we were fishing for crappie, they had a bass tournament. They started these tounaments at the end of February and went to the end of May. They then started back up in the fall, but I did not participate. The cost was $25 per person but I it really didn't matter because a local guy one every single tournament. Even the times I thought I had them and would take the money I would be short by a few ounces. The one tournament my partner and I had them right up till my partner lifted a crappie out that should have been netted and fell off the hook. There went the fish and the money.
