Help on Herrington

I'v heard that Herrington lake has some pretty good crappie fishing. I'v fished it a few times with very little luck, Can anyone give me some advice on general area of the lake and what they are being caught on. Thanks:D

Herrington is a great Crappie lake, but is usually very hard to pattern. I have heard reports of Crappie being caught around the Gwinn Island area, on jigs & on minnows (recent weeks).
I haven't Crappie fished on Herrington in so long, I'm afraid to even speculate on time and areas, anymore. I've never fished there, for Crappie, during the Winter months. But, I have caught 2+lb Crappie from its waters. Late March into mid June ... I might be of some help. Water level stability is the biggest problem at Herrington, and the key factor to their whereabouts during those months.
