    Default I should just QUIT!

I haven't been fishing in almost 2 months. Work related matters and such. I have just about Quit fishing. It is either work, family or weather. I have missed some of the best fishing this fall! How many of you guys aren't fishing as much as you used to?

I think it's the job! Just can't figure how to pay the bills without one.:D

Yeah, Barkley is the closest. I own a business, I have no boss per se. 5 1/2 days a week, no vacation, no holidays. Church on Sunday etc.........Not complaining about that, it just seems that this year in particular days on the water have been very hard to come by. Maybe after the Christmas Holiday things will get better. I am greatfull being busy and would never complain about that. I am hoping that the few days I have off in a month the weather will be a bit better.

I hear ya..... I got four kids, one wife, and a chocolate lab that is more spoiled then the rest of the clan. If it isn't my nephews football or baseball games, it's one of my kids with something. Work sometimes effects my plans also, but not very often. Seems like there is always something. My wife and I went to KY Lake during Thanksgiving week with the kids. We didn't fish one day but had a heck of a trip. We spend most of the time looking for a place to move eventually. We have six years until we are planning on buying a lake house but something might screw that up also. Hopefully not.

I've been threatening to hit the water for over a month now....the boat is still in the shed. I agree with work, two kids and my side job (mowing, mulching collecting leaves) there's not much time left to fish. I'm far enough away from the lake that with the cost of things I want to wait and go on a day that I can at least spend the whole day there. The few days that I have actually had available to fish the weather has been terrible. I'm crossing my fingers that either Thursday or Saturday of this week I can at least try it. I feel your pain!

Unhappy I Feel Your Pain Buddy!

I know what you're talking about. I have missed some good days due to my mother's recent illness, the weather, work, hollidays, honey do's, etc...

I have fished some pretty bad days weather wise just to get out of the house, and have managed to catch some fish on those days. Infact, one of the worst days I fished (week ago monday) was one of my better days. With the water jumping up and down though the fishing hasn't been consistant.

You know & I know that fishing is good for the soul. Jesus' deciples were fishermen. Fishing gives us time to reflect on things & recharge our batteries. It's biblical! :D

When I'm goin thru fish'n DT's I am a grouch! And when PaPa's not happy... Nobody's happy! I snap at the grandkids, fuss at my wife, gripe at my kids. I am a pain in the a$$! I know it's easier said than done, but make time! Pick a day, tell everybody "I'm goin fish'n on this day, so don't anyone make any plans for me!"

That's what I do when things pile up on me. Heck with the leaves! Pray for high winds and maybe they'll blow over next door! :D

Grandpa always said "If you don't make time to go fish'n, there'll never be time!" He was a wise man and a heck of a crappie fiserman! I live by his words.

I know you love to fish as much as I do. GO!

It may seem like you will never get the chancee to go fishing but please don't give up. There will come the day that you will go and load the boat. Never give up.

Between the wife and I working opposite shifts and having two young kids (3 years and 11 months), I know exactly what you mean. I just pick a day every month and tell everyone I'm going fishing, and don't try to suggest otherwise!

I don't feel so bad now. I've been a little bluesy on my lack of wettin' the ole line. Last two times on the water I didn't take a pole. Too busy sinking mushrooms and cedar trees.
My days a comin' though. I can fee it in the air.. Fortunately we don't have to deal with much Ice and there are no sports in January.
