Humminbird maps card for Kentucky

Is it worth the purchase for the maps card for your humminbird? Just curious what other mapping cards Kentucky guys use?

PB ... I've only used a map card in my previous Lowrance DI unit (Elite 5 DSI), and I'm not really sure I used it enough to justify the cost (even tho I bought it used). The map card is still in the unit, and the unit is non-functional (broken pins in back of unit). I replaced it with a Hook 7 and have just used the integrated map of the Hook unit.

I manually loaded a bunch of waypoints onto my Hook unit from the KDFWR website, but I'd venture to say that quite a lot of them are so old that the cover placed by the KDFWR has long since washed away or broken down to the point of being non-existant or virtually useless. Green River Lake is especially bad for that, and Taylorsville Lake probably is too ... it's just that I haven't fished T-ville in the last few years, so I'm just speculating (based on previous trips there from 4-5yrs ago).

Humminbird base map is 10ft contours ...

LakeMaster mapping is 1ft contours for HD lakes ...

Tighter contour lines to show the subtle changes in bottom contours is worth it ...

If you don’t want the expense of a Regional LakeMaster card, the LakeMaster Chart Select program lets you purchase mapping for an individual lake at a very reduced cost ... but still has all the features of a LakeMaster mapping card ...
