Hope everyone is celebrating being an American this weekend, doing what ya love, spending time with kids /family, and most importantly sneakin away to fish.
Taylorsville crappie are on fire right now, you can catch as many as ya want. Be prepared to weed through fish 15/1 (dink to keeper ratio) if you still need filets for the fam, but again I’m still not keeping fish, I got plenty. Caught 79 crappie between 9:30-1:30, once the storms chilled out a bit. Most were between 9-10, some appeared to be just born. I’m gonna say we caught 8 fish over 10” , but the majority were smaller. Anyhoo…for those who care, the shad fry have FINALLY surfaced. We did throw out net for about an hour and caught a ton of shad 1.5”<, in a couple of weeks they will be perfect. I use em for catfish and them big trophy rainbows @ Cumberland. Anywho, the rain didn’t do any damage, lake was rising but not muddy in the slightest, I’m sure there are new big logs floating around so y’all boys be careful. Have a good 4th and I’ll see y’all on the water.
