I fished both days from dawn until 10:00 am, it was already 90° and the yahoos were thick by the shift change so I was more than happy to give them the water at quittin time.
Sat- Jigs only ( only other time I’ve done this is when I left my wallet at home and couldn’t buy bait) I pitched a 1/8 oz Black and chartreuse beaver tail style bait pretty much all day long. I caught fish the entire time, and the bite was pretty darn aggressive. In all caught 50 or so with 7 keepers, many many many 9” fish, 2023 should be a good one.

Sun-The time I spend livescoping is very efficient, I’m always on fish but they ain’t always bitin. I think sometimes I’d be better off leaving a big wad of crappie that won’t bite and finding somethin a more receptive group rather than spending an hour pitching around to a couple of spots. Sometimes I think I spook them getting too close, I watch them start to really bunch up around the cover after someone slams a cooler lid or drops a phone, etc..I digress. So I would have bet anything I would have done just as well today as yesterday, WRONG. Fishing gods heard me pounding my chest and they answered with a serving of humble pie to boot. Fish were all in the same areas and depths as they have been,8-12 feet deep in 30 feet of water, but very tight lipped to my offerings early on, after two hours of fishing I had lost two pigs and landed 3 crappie. I moved spots and maybe hit 20 or so short fish and 1 12” over the next couple of hours, but I had to run a Bday party for my 8 year old and the weather was rough on this ol boy.
Side note** while I was stowing my motor and cleaning up a wake boat skirted within 50 yards of me and I had a series of 4 foot waves bearing down on me while I was helpless on the front deck. The waves crashed over the bow swamping my boat, and I had to hold onto the motor shaft to avoid being tossed overboard. I know you boys mind your manners out there but everyone ain’t so nice, y’all stay safe and be careful out there.

Personally, I don't think T-ville is big enough for "wake boats" ... and the skiers don't seem to like the designated ski areas, either.
I've had wake boats nearly wash me onto the bank a couple of times, myself.

Good on ya' BCO ... and thanks for the report/pics !!

Maybe next time downsize your jig/plastic (when the aggressive bite is not there) and/or change the style of plastics.

Now that you've gone to Livescope sniping .... are you casting a single jig, and is that why you're using a 1/8oz head ?? Have you tried using two 1/16oz jigs (double jig rig) ??

Kind of half casting, half pitching really, most of my targets are 15-20 feet from me. When I get the cone of my livescope lined up with my cast I like to get it about 10 feet past them and I just let the weight of the jig swing the bait back toward me in a natural fashion. I’m def new to the style and I don’t have anything but 1/4 oz and 1/8 oz jig heads so I’ve been using those with pretty good success. I do enjoy the “spot and stalk” aspect of livescope and I have tried things I normally don’t do but when I can see the fish react to my presentation I’m starting to learn what I can and can’t do… all over again lol. Let’s be honest, spider rigging can be a lot like work, especially in the snags out there, I spend a lot more time fishing and a lot less tying. Something about the simplicity of a rod, reel, line and jig, fun stuff. Shame I had to spend a fortune to simplify my operation.

This is one reason I use double jig rigs :

I heard from my mentor that jiggling the rod tip to make the jigs "dance" wouldn't work, but I had to try it anyway. It worked on one occasion, made little to no difference on others. Gliding the jigs just above the brush will get action from those fish above the brush, but little attention from those down in the brush ... and many times those down in the brush are the bigger fish.

I usually carry a 12' and a 8' rod for LS sniping/flipping. The 12' rod has the double jig rig for "flipping" and the 8' rod has a single jig for casting to the target. I have open hook jigs in the double jig rig, and a weedless jighead for the single jig setup.

I've seen about every "action" a fish can take when my jigs come into their zone. I've even seen them dive down after the jig when it drops from above them to below them, but I've yet to see one dive down after a jig that is running below them the whole way. I've seen them follow the jig up for over 5ft and still not commit, and seen them come up to it and turn away .... only to come back quickly when the jig is made to "dance" a little. I've also seen them swim off in a hurry when the jig "dances". I've seen them turn up their noses at a 1.5" body & slam a 2.5" body of the same color, and vice versa.

Keep the reports coming ... we all learn things from good and bad reports.
