We fished cumberland Thursday morning caught about 30 or 40 but only had 9 keepers but they were pretty good 11-13 inch. Looks like its time to start nightfishing if this heat keeps up. Good luck Monday

Been a while since I last posted.....but noticed not much posting on the Kentucky site. Anybody doing any fishing? I can report that fish at Barren is real slow. Water is still 10 ft below summer pool and the fish seemed to have just turned off. Creel survey showing very few fish being caught right now.
I went to Kentucky lake last week, my last time out. Was still catching them pretty good. Not as many big ones as ususal but had a couple nice ones. The rest were just good 10 1/2 to 11 inch keepers. Managed to catch 45 by 11:30 a.m.
I'm going to try again this Monday....don't know what the fish will be doing now with this almost summer like pattern. Probably be a little deeper. This spring has certainly been a rollar coaster ride. In March is was spring by all accounts....April shocked us back to winter, which messed with everything. And now May has erupted into summer. Where did this humidity come from all the sudden?
Good fishing to everyone still after them.

Hope to get out Tuesday morning before the rain moves in tomorrow night. Heading to T-ville and will report when I return.
You can't finish what you don't start

Crappie here almost seem to be in a Summer Pattern also!! We"re catching some But their scattered. Lake Level here is way up-the rampI use is about 15 ft. of water before you hit concrete!! I caught 19 yesterday with 11 Keepers-all on slip corks. Cant hardly get a bite on a jig right now!!
Good Fishin To Ya!! Dennis Dale Hollow Crappie www.dalehollowcrappie.4t.com
I've caught a few of those eye's at Nolin on accident while bass fishing. They sure are good eating. I wouldn't know the first thing about how to catch them. I did catch two sauger yesterday at KY Lake. They were both a little to short to keep.
I fished Cave Run yesterday and caught several but none of any major size. Most were in the 7-10 inch size. They were scattered and around 10 feet down. I didn't find any shallow so I'm assuming the spawn has come and gone. At Cave Run the spawn only lasts about 15 minutes anyway.
Thinking about a last trip to Ky lake this weekend till fall and was wondering what depth you caught most of your fish? I hope you say 10 to 15 around brush and drops.I still have the fever and need one last trip to get me through till November!
Slabdaddy, your right on the money. I caught most of my fish in 14 ft of water. I was fishing the Big Sandy area, had quite a few fish in the meadow. Just look for that depth and put your bait close to the bottom. No certain jig colored out performed the other....I was using purp/chart, orange/chart and white/chart. Good luck....the weather for the rest of the week looks great you should have no problem making one last good trip.
