Had a trip yesterday with the Jeffords brothers from Onieda, TN. We spent the day spider-rigging with minnows and ended up with 43 keepers and several throwbacks. We had several fish in the pound and a half range with a couple that would push 2 lbs, but lost too many good fish due to line breakage. I am a P-line fan and have used it for years, but for this trip I rigged all the poles with P-line Flourocarbon, hoping to use it when the waters of Dale and Lake Cumberland gain the clarity they are noted for. However, this line broke repeatedly at the point where it was looped thru the weight, costing my clients some quality fish. I won't be using it again and am this morning rigging again with 6lb P-line Extra Strong, which I've proven in years of tournament fishing.
