There's really little reason to think that CCL is, or will, produce Crappie of any appreciable size. For whatever reason, they're just not growing as fast as expected. This problem is being addressed by the KDFWR ... by removing the size limit on Crappie, starting in 2008. The 15/day creel will still be in effect ... there just won't be any size limitations. There are some good sized Crappie, in the lake ... they've been catching them for a couple of years. There's just not enough of them, to make it worthy of any travel distance.
The Bass are seemingly doing well ... but, removal of many of the legal sized fish, removal of numbers of sub-legal sized ones, heavy fishing pressure, etc. is having an effect.
The Bluegill & Shellcracker, of trophy size, probably isn't going to become a reality, either. The return of the Gizzard Shad, and the explosion of their numbers, has seen to that. The Bass & Catfish prefer the soft finned Shad, over the hard finned sunfish ... so they are not as effective in keeping the sunfish numbers in check, as was planned.
Right now, and in the foreseeable near future, CCL has little to offer in the form of any "good" sunfish/panfish fishing. Lakes, that are closer to home, are probably a better (& cheaper) source of these fish. IMHO
