Default Great fishing at Kentucky Lake

Just got back from Kentucky Lake. Unbelievable fishing . Never dreamed you could catch crappies that size (12-15 inches ) , every day we were there. It was the best crappie fishing I have ever done. We hit perfect weather . What a great vacation !

maybe this upcoming cold snap will hold them off for a couple of weeks, and you'll be getting off the tug just in time to catch them coming back shallow, for real and with a vengeance :D ....... luck2ya ... cp

Default Tell me I'm not to late

We came down last year for the first time on 4/1. We will be coming again this year on 4/5. Last year we caught most of our fish in 8-12ft with the water temp being around 61. I keep looking at this rising water temps and double guessing our booking date. Will we hit it dead on or are we pushing it. And also they are forcasting high 50's everyday will that hurt us.

Yea the water is at about 63 now maybe warmer. Cold snap is gonna check 'em but they'll still bite. Weezer1 is one of the very few who can catch'em day in and day out up there.

I've been praying for cold fronts since I got on here so I can take my dad when I get home. I hate it for those who have vacations planed but I sure like watch'n my dad drag them slabs over the side of the boat! :D

    Default Wooley Booger Man

I have been slaying the fish in 3' to 6' foot of water everytime I go and I fish Kentucky Lake solely. The fish will probably spawn this week and then move back out to 6 to 8 feet of water.

it certainly was a good fishin weekend, (except for the high wind) my wife caught the largest crappie of her life,, about 14.5" but the fattest widest one Ive ever seen,,over all we only fished early mornings and late afternoon,, didnt catch a ton of fish but what we caught were 11+",,cleaned 8 fish for our sunday fish fry for the 4 of us,,since all the females did look plump with eggs I let them go, got all of them in 4-6 ft water casting roadrunners,, cold front I hope will slow things down ,, hopefully I have a bunch of friends comming down on the 13th,, overall had a great weekend and my wife is now hooked on crappie fishing,,,
