Thanks for the info! I think I will book a stay at sportsman’s lodge then. It will be my first trip to Kentucky lake. Wooohooo!

Ok, I have booked a trip to Sportsmans lodge and am thinking about hiring a guide for 1/2 day to get me kick started. Any suggestions? I am also trying to decide what style of fishing I want to try. My boat will be ready for spider rig, pulling cranks or long lining. I am going to be there from 25 through the 29 of April. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you ahead of time.

recommend you reach out to mrdux. Doug is a guide there.
I think you may be a bit late on the guide hiring deal .... and you can forget about hiring mrdux as your guide from Apr 27-29, because he will be at the Spring Fling April 27-29 (and I think I've seen where he posted that he was booked solid for April in a previous thread). But, you can always check the Guide Listing thread (sticky at top of page) for contact info to him or other guides on Ky Lake, just in case one of them can get you in.
I stayed there about that time last year. Some of the locals that stay there were more than helpful. So you may still be ok if you can't find a guide.
I’ll be ok. I am rigging my boat for spider rigging and it might be the first time I get to try it out. Millennium side kick seats in front with two 18 inch driftmaster Tbars that have 4 rod holders each and 2 of the same Tbar setups in back. Helix9 mega si/di with gps and hd transducer mounted on bowducer assembly hanging in front. I can’t wait!!!!

I am wondering what will be the best technique for that time of year. Do you all have any suggestions?
