Default West side/ north end of KY Lake ice conditions

I'm needing to run my boat for a little while the end of this week. Probably Big Bear or Jonathan area. I'm trying out a couple of new props and need to run them for just a few minutes but it needs to be open water and I'm concerned we will start to see ice up in bays. If you see ice in the bays/creeks in the area, please post it up. Thanks.

I am fixing to get out and ride around Doug, I will let you know if I get down that way. If we don't have ice bound to be a bunch of trash as much as the lakes have come up even though the levels are falling now.

I was thinking about maybe going fishing tomorrow. Supposed to be up to 37 with wind 5-6 from the north.

Not going to have time to get all the way down to Jonathan/Big Bear but here is back of Sledd. Not much ice right now, water is falling quick.

Looked at quite a few places on the north end of both lakes riding out towards Eddyville and haven't seen any ice worth talking about. Hard to freeze moving water.

Thanks guys. With them pulling 120K++ it will be tough fishing but lots of fun things floating.

I be been running a Powertech 13.5x21 SS 3 blade. I had took the top off a sandbar in the mouth of Blood River last winter and scratched it up and put a couple of nicks in it.
WhenExcel built my new boat and rigged it, I had them put a 6” jackplate on it. The plate changed things and now I’m getting more speed but no bow lift. My prop guy says the Suzuki engines need a larger blade prop so I’m trying out a 13.8x21 four blade and a 13.9x21 three blade to see if I can get the nose up. I have a SS 4 blade 13.5x21 spare so when we find what works best, some horse reading will take place.

BTW, with everything now frozen the prop test is still waiting.
