Ky Lake 11/19/17
Beautiful late fall/winter morning, sun shining, hardly a cloud, and mother nature was still a little upset from Saturday's storms and the wind was still pretty stiff. Regardless, I was determined to fish and have a relaxing day. Got to the ramp later than my normal first light arrival, did some prep work at home tying on some new rigs.
Had to try out my new double swivel weights from our very own, sinkermaker.
And I gathered a new tip on tying my rigs, so today was full of R&D analysis!!
Didn't take long before I had some fish in the boat, but the wind was harsh from the NW. On the second drift, I pulled a tool out my small bag of tricks, and turned my trolling motor around to thrust against the wind to help slow me down. Put 6 keepers in the boat on that drift.
As the morning went on, the wind began to blow from multiple directions, swinging simultaneously from the SW to the NW, and anything in between. This was becoming very aggravating. Patience is a vurtue, which I don't have very much of, but I stayed the course.
Ended up finding the same pattern in a small area, and finished out my limit. It felt good to just fish, enjoy the time on the water, and not be running all over the place.
Hope everyone travels safe this next week, enjoy the family and friends and remember what you should be thankful for!
