Weekend trip at Barkley state park

Crappiehabits and I took a trip with our families down to the state park. First time ever fishing little river. I don't know if we ever fished longer than a couple hours without getting hammered by the rain. We stuck to pulling cranks on the creek channel ledges and flats. I'm hoping everybody else had better luck than us! We just couldn't establish any kind of pattern. We couldn't hardly find any baitfish. The fish we did scratch out in between showers were scattered from 12-18 fow. Caught more shorts than keepers but not many of either. We did find a concentration of what looked to be crappie in a 17ft depression back in a little cove. Made us wish we had double minnow rigs and our pushing rods. Anyhow, tough weekend for us. Did manage one 14" fish. Pretty skinny. Might have weighed 1.25. Did anyone else fish Barkley over weekend? Wondering if it was just tough or we are just that bad!

Sorry it was tough for you guys, last week is the first week I have missed on Barkley in quite a while. They were starting to get a little bit tougher at the end of the week before last. Will probably be out in the next few days to see if I can find some.
