    Default Taylorsville Report

Caught 40 keepers in about 3 hours. Tossed just as many back. Long lining with jiffy jigs. Would have caught the final 5 but cranking battery died. Worried new Lowrance killed it but took it to be tested after getting it started and running it for 20 minutes and tested bad. I am running two HDS7 Lowrance in tandem. Will this run cranking batteries down in 3 hours? You would think not but now I little nervous that I have an issue.

We caught a lot of fish today at Taylorsville but only had 21 keepers. We were using curly tail jigs. Water temperature is at 65.

    Way to go, buddy !!

Can't tell you about your battery problems ... but, get a hold of CatFan (by PM) or post about it on the Electronics forum & see what the gurus say.

Let me correct myself; trying to wake her up at 5:00. Got to be on road by 6:00 to be on water at 7:00am. Nothing makes her more mad that I won't have to set the alarm and I will be up and at them. Set the alarm to go to work and I hit snooze button for 30 minutes. God love crappie and deer season.

I switched to a deep cycle agm cranking battery when I upgraded electronics. Everything except trolling motor is hooked to it. It handles the increased load very well and you can completely discharge it 200 times.

Those electronics like Lowrance fish finders and others pull very little juice. Very little.
It would take a long, long time to pull a good battery down.

I took the battery in and it was bad. Two days left on warrenty. I figured the electronics shouldn't pull that much. A regular computer doesn't pull much and these new fish finders are basically computers. Thanks for the info.
