Default Easter crappie fishing first time in KY

My family and I will be in cave city Ky Easter week. Looking for a good spot/lake to get on some crappie. My girls love fishing and I love watching them enjoy it. Any help is appreciated

Grayson lake will be closest for you. Bruin ramp has a lot of good crappie cover. The department of fish and wildlife places Christmas trees around the marina and camp webb area. If I was in the area I'd say I'd see ya out there but I'll be spending easter on the other end of the state with the girlfriends family this year. Hope the info about Grayson lake helps. Feel free to message me with any more questions

Nolin is your closest lake but you aren't far from Barren either in Cave City.

Lots of access at Barren but I am thinking the lake may still be below summer pool at that time. Try the end of Lucas RD. There is a fishing dock there (that will likely not have water around it) but all out in front of it there is brush. Also brush all back down to the left when facing the lake. Being close to the KDFWR shop for Barren WMA that spot down there gets a bunch of christmas trees.

    Good luck.

I definently read that title wrong... I saw easter and thought you said eastern ky. Lol I was thinking of carter city. Close to carter caves state park. Sorry for the mix up.

If you got a boat then you are in business. I'd slide down 90 and 31-E and go to Barren. Put in at the state park ramp and fish in Peter Creek. Last year the fish suspended as the lake rose following schools of shad. Might try there or hit brush piles from the old road bed upstream on the north bank. It is the shallow bank and gets the all day sun so it should warm first.

Check the channel edges for stumps holding fish if a cold front pushes through.
