    Default 12/28 Taylorsville

Went out to start my truck to defrost and thought it turned over a little slow this morning but it started so off I went. Stopped to gas up and grab some food. Got back in and turned the key and all it did was click. Lucky for me the guy at the pump next to me was willing to give me a jump. It started right up so ether we turn around and head back home or find a place to by a battery at 6 am. So off we went to the Walmart's. I run in and pick up battery but leave my partner in the truck so I didn't have to shut it off. I throw the battery in the back of the truck and head to the ramp better to change it when it was light out then in the dark. Got to the ramp about 7:30. The water was 45℉ and looked like chocolate milk with a fair amount of floating wood. We ran up lake looking for some cleaner water. We ended up with our limit but had to work for them. Biggest was a 12" black. We must to have caught 80+ shorts. We headed back to the ramp about 2 to change the battery but it started up so I loaded up and headed home to clean fish and swap out the battery.

Been there, done that ... sorta. I just happened to have a portable jumper battery that I used to take with me. Got to T-ville ramp, Blazer wouldn't start, so I hooked the jumper up & went to Wal-Mart & got a battery. Good to go ... for a couple of days, anyway. Turned out to be the alternator. I had to use the jumper battery to get me to & from work for a couple of days, before I could get it replaced.

Glad you salvaged the day !! Thanks for the report ... and it's always good to hear about all the "shorts", since that means more keepers in the years to come.
