Fished Blood river with Woods and Water guide Jack Canady this past Saturday, it was cold and breezy but we managed to put a limit of 20 in the boat. It started out slow, we went to water 8 to 10 feet deep first spider rigging jigs drifting with the wind, caught several small before moving to 10 to 12 fow where we started catching 10 to 12 inch keeper mixed with shorts (roughly caught 6 short to 1 keeper). we had our lines running at the 10 fow depth. Best colors were electric chicken and black Chart in tubes, white chart was a close 3rd. I went out Sunday solo and put 20 in the boat from 7:00 am to noon. Bite was about the same except the keeper rate was much better, I switched to curly tails in electric chicken and black chart and trolled at .6 to .7 mph. The curly ails were 2 to 2.5" long vs 1.5" tube jigs, I'm thinking that might have helped the keeper to short catch rate. Woods and Water has a web site you can go to if your thinking about booking a trip, had a great time thanks Jack!
Good luck

Congrats. That is a nice bay. Good job going back the next day solo.
Jack is a real good one to learn from. I went two times with him and enjoyed it and learned a lot. Of course both times we missed a good bite by a day or so but that's always my luck. He was real nice and helped with suggesting what rods and equipment to buy when we bought our boat and started spider rigging ourself. I always try to run into him in his store each time we come down to fish. He's a good guy

Never spider rigged till I fished with him, he is very open about how he fishes and shares setups ect. I usually fish the first day with him then go solo the next couple days, before parting he usually gets the lake map out and shows me places to fish if they aren't biting where I'm at.
