Heading to cave run Friday evening and Saturday. Haven't been there this year yet so any info would be much appreciated. Last minute decision, but going out of Scott creek(for now). Will give update when I get off the water. Thanks in advance.

We don't really have a whole lot of members that frequent Cave Run, so reports are few & far between.
I don't fish it often enough to stay on top of what's happening over there, or I'd gladly give you a report.
Best I can do is show you a couple of things I know about:
Louisville District > Missions > Civil Works > Water Information > Updated Lake Temperatures and Dissolved Oxygen Lev > Cave Run Profile
Unfortunately it's 11days old, but it shows that the temps and oxygen levels were particularly good at around the 20-23ft depths.
Then there's this :

Make special note of the Scotts Creek (large tree piles), & the Adams Point and Campground reefs (and their depths).
... luck2ya !! And please do post a report, if you go.
Thanks. Yeah I know us eastern guys are so hush hush. Luckily I have a guy that but like your info it's a few weeks old. I was hoping for a little heads up as I load the boat. Guys on the forum are pretty awesome when it comes to lending any advice. Again I will give a report when I get back. Hopefully it doesn't smell like a skunk. Again thanks.

When you do report .... don't be too specific !! What colors were used, what method was used, & depth fished are fine. Specific brushpiles, GPS coords, and such should be kept to yourself ... and you don't even need to say what area of the lake you fished. either.
Any pics taken should have the bottom of the boat or the sky as a background, so that the surrounding bank area cannot be identified .... or else take the pics once you get home.
No sense in feeding the internet meathog trolls with specifics !!
Yes sir, will do. Or don't. That's funny! I will pm you with highly classified stamp so you will know to burn after reading.
Thanks for the laugh and have a great weekend.

I fished CR today and caught 78 all throw backs on minnows in 16 fow on flats with brush piles. I made a couple runs pulling Bandits before I had to leave and caught one 13" crappie. I think next trip I will pull cranks in 15 to 22 fow the entire trip.
Thanks speck. Friday evening my father, brother, cousin and I went out of alfrey. We sat over a few tree piles and caught a lot of white crappie but more blue gills. Don't know the true total but only five keeper, between 10 and 13" on the crappie. Friday we were out 6pm to 11pm, and it was a beautiful night.
Saturday we went out at Scott's creek which was a huge mistake. The lake was over populated with jet skiers and ski boats. I don't blame them, with the awesome weather, but we should have launched off a more southern ramp. Live and learn. Saturday morning we fished Adams point, and hooked up and few largemouth and one smallmouth. The rest of Saturday was rough with very few bites, no matter which cove or point we went to. A few keepers on Saturday.
All in all was a wonderful trip, especially when you can't go 15 minutes without laughing at your boat mates. Cave run water was around 85 degrees and about 4 feet visibility, the clearest I have ever seen it.
Sorry no photos, to share and the video is for family eyes only. Still learning the lake but felt we should have caught more but still an awesome 1 1/2 days!!!
Tonight, taking the nephews to bullock pen! Making more memories!

I fish out of Longbow and there are very few boats in that area and most of them are fishermen. Keepers are hard to hook up with for me in that area but very peaceful, quite and relaxing.
Great report and good luck.
Yes, seems like any thing below beaver creek is fishing, anything above is for skiing. Last year we went out of longbow and fished a lot in Leatherwood. This year we had to learn the hard way.
Never fished the flats, yet. YET! Be back down in a month so hopefully better luck and smarter choices.
Thanks again.
