Well as can be expected with temps in the upper 80s & 90s all this past week and water temps now reaching from 75 to almost 80 degrees by 2pm and the lake at full summer pool and very low discharge due to emergency activities at the marina with water color stained at best we set out at 6 am both mornings not expecting much started working the spider rig covering from 7-25 ft in the water column working standing timber and submerged structure in creek opening picking up several shorts that were fairly thin we began to reach deeper water 35 to 40 ft working flats and stump beds trying to run our offering just above the thermocline we found the fish at 10 am suspended at 19.5 ft we began to start see rod ends dive tipped with tuxedo and chartrues strike king mr crappie joker topped with small minnows hooked through the lips day 1 we boated 21 crappie mostly blacks from 11-13" and probably 50 shorts day two we boated 29 11-12 " fish and caught probably 50 shorts we experimented over the last two days in the evening with strike King xd3 crankbaits and bomber b200 cranks with lil success fish seem to be very sluggish and very reluctant to feed unless tempted at there nose with live minnows and a flash of color from the jigs so there u have the lake and fishing report
