    Default Who fishes Blood River?

Just curious as we might want to compare some notes during the year. I'm more of a bass fisherman, but I'm planning on giving the crappie a run for there money March and April this year before going after the bass and redear.

I fished Blood for the first time last year and did great. I went once early in March and fished the left bank from the mouth of the river back to where the river makes the majob=r turn to the left. It is a long stretch of land that is maybe 1/2 long. There are some sharp drop off from 10' to 20'. There will be a lot of boats around the area in March pointing the way to the fish. They will get you in the area but move to different depths and use different colors until you find the magic combination. I caught tons of fish that way. At times depending on cloud cover and temperature I would catch fish and ten minute later it would change. I changed with it. The people who didn't, didn't continue to catch fish. As the water warms, the crappie will move closer to the bank and farther up the river.
