Any implant take several days/weeks depending on the individual. First they figure out the best location.
Then they open the gum and prepare the bone for implant. Then they do the implant. Then you wait for your gum to heal. Then thay make the teeth if the stud is secure. Wife has had several. All dentist are different but that is the basic procedure.

If I knew 30 years ago what I now know about my dentures ... I would have had them pulled 30 years ago and not listened to that dentist rhetoric about "keep your teeth as long as you can" ...
I know now that's nothing more than the dentist knowing he is not going to make as much money on the patient after the dentures are in place ...
My dentures and partial are 1000 times easier to deal with than the difficult and painful upkeep of encroaching periodontal disease and inherent non-perfect teeth ...

And implants are not immune to problems if there is any iota of periodontal disease in the patient ...
Those bacteria can still get to the bone structure holding the implant in place just like having natural teeth ...
