I am not hearing anything about fishing on Barkley. I did hear of what could have been a tragic boat crash over there that was witnessed by Wiskers. The lake is almost at winter pool and they put buoys in the creek channels for good reason. Lots of underwater gremlins that can jump up and bite a lower unit running out of the channels. I've ran that lake since it was flooded and wouldn't consider running from Ford's Bay to Donaldson without GPS mapping this time of the year.

    Be careful.

That's awful, when and here did this happen? I was in a kayak last week on Donaldson and I cringed when I saw a boat out on the main lake up on plane that wasn't anywhere near the main channel. They should maybe put warning signs at the ramps. For someone that has never been there before they might not realize how shallow Barkley is even when far from any shoreline.

I hope you get a few answers. I have been fishing more there lately, but I can't find the crappie.

Thanks for the heads up on the safety issue and winter pool. Hate to blow up a lower unit.
I never am in any hurry most times anyway. I had a great trip to Donaldson last May. I hope
I can find a few crappie this trip.

I got a text from Wiskers on Friday. He watched a red Nitro Z9 hit something at high speed near Little River on the main lake. At least one guy was thrown well away from the boat and when he stood up the water was waist deep. Another bass boat stopped to help them. I'm sure Terry would have helped but stopping a tow is a couple of mile proposition.

Maybe he will see this and chime in.
