    Default Barkley 8/18/15

First time I have had the chance to go in a few weeks. Nice day to be out, pleasure boat traffic slowed a bit. Fish were tough for me today, had to work harder today than I have since when they were full blown post-spawn. Covered several miles of water for 14 keepers. Fish are really plumping back up and like Doug has mentioned, bunches of short fish. These fish were burrowed in wood 13-14fow almost on bottom.Name: uploadfromtaptalk1439940371055.jpg

Those fish that have their noses buried in wood are the ones we would normally be getting on cranks. Fish this summer have not been aggressive enough to chase a crank. Weird summer so far. You two-polers need to make hay while the sun is shining. Us crankers will have our day.

Yesterday is the first day in a while that they were really buried up, last few trips they have been pretty aggressive. Even if they were in the wood they would come up and get it.

Hopefully the sun comes out for you guys pulling cranks. That is the beauty of two-poling, there is always some sunshine.

Nice Austin. Been tough for me also but still manage a few here and there. How did the new baits work out? Wink wink!! May have to show some baits at the shindig.

New baits are great, they have really showed a strong preference for them over tubes and bobby garland type stuff all year. Your latest version is even better, seemed to hold up better and the fish still like them. Be worth going to the shindig just to check them out. Thanks again my friend.
