Default I am not an internet scouting for fishing information

I recently started a post about crappie fishing on Lake Cumberland. Since then I haven't had a single response. I wasn't trying to pry information from or trying to get in sombodys hot spot. So I am new at this and am very sorry if
I violated the crappie.com code of ethics. Havent got to fish as often as I would've like to, now water is way up and probably wont be on water till it recedes some. Again sorry if I offended anyone.

I don't believe you offended anyone ... but it was more likely that we don't have a lot of members that fish C-land on a regular basis (and/or post about it). In fact, there are some members in that area that fish Green & Cumberland ... and are not happy about the fact that the lake is back to "normal" levels, because they had many spots (waypoints) while the lake was down & now they're too deep to matter. Add in the clearer water & heavy boat traffic, or high water & floating debris, and many simply stay away or fish other waters.

    ... cp

The night fishing is slow right now with all the debris floating, it is unsafe to move much after dark. The few I have caught during the day have been in the flooded trees about 18 to 20 foot deep over 30 fow. Bringing in lots of shad but not to many crappie in my usual spots, have to look for more areas to fish. I usually fish the lower end of the lake. wish I could be more help. Dave

Sorry Spoondog, I somehow missed your request for info. I'm happy to give it when I can. Most of my Lake Cumberland crappie fishing right now is at night. The last three times I've been, most of the crappie I've caught have been about 9 inches long. I'm bringing in tons of minnows under my green submersible lights....and I'm occasionally seeing some pretty good crappie swimming thru, but just cant get the better ones to bite. I've tried just about everything I know. I've talked to friends who are having the same results. I,m doing most of my fishing in the Fishing Creek area. The high water and debris has been a real headache. One morning last week, I caught 9 nice crappie in some flooded trees way up the creek. Just happened upon them while looking for bluegill. I've tried them twice since and didn't catch a fish. Maybe because of the falling water.
