Anybody know any hotspots for Cedar Creek during July? gonna take my ol man and my son this week and wanna get on em. I've only caught one crappie in my life and would like to start catching em.. Thanks in advance

Never been on Cedar Creek.

Let me give you the same advice most all of us here got when we were new here; at the top right of this page is a search box. If you will type in Cedar Creek Lake it will show you many of the posts that had Cedar Creek mentioned in them. Read all you can about the lake, take what is said, and start your search for summertime crappie there.

Coming onto the forums and asking for "hotspots" with your first post throws up red flags with everyone here. Whether on purpose or by accident, most of us have been burned by giving specific information about any lake we fish. For every member of the site, there are dozens of lurkers or "internet scouts" who contribute nothing but are only looking for information that will make their pursuit for crappie easy with no effort on their part.

Welcome to the site. If you were asking for info on KY Lake or Barkley, I and several others would be more than glad to give you "general information " of where to start. Specific information or "hotspots" are like a good hand in a poker game, we keep those cards close to our vests.

cedar creek can be tuff, just keep searching differant areas and depths .sometime a differant type of timber mite be holding fish.i just keep moving and searching .theres plenty crappy in there big and small. good luck

"Crappie are still hitting at night on minnows fished under lights. Most fish have been caught around 12 feet deep." (July 10 report)

Previous reports state that the main lake timber has been more productive than the creeks. And this report is almost identical to the one posted on June 23rd.

With many of the other lakes in the state being flooded or having water levels well over the Summer Pool level, Cedar Creek may experience a greater than normal amount of anglers converging on it. It's already heavily pressured, especially on weekends, so the traffic can be bothersome if not down right chaotic.

I haven't fished it enough, recently, to give you any tips or further information ... and I've never fished it at night, either.

It shows where the "attractors" were placed, which roads lead to which ramps, and in "satellite view" you can zoom down close enough to see where the concentrations of standing timber are located. Just understand that there's as much or more timber that's submerged & not visible, as there is that is visible.

Strunk .... I tried to find a website with a map of Cedar Creek, but most were too small to see much or the page was no longer available. I can't say for sure, but you might find a map at the "outfitters" shop (web link of the fishing report). That shop is just a mile down the road (US150) past the lake, as you're going towards Crab Orchard ... on the right, at the intersection of US150 & 1369 (old US150E).

You might want to call Randy @ 1-606-355-0100 and ask if he has any maps of the lake, before you make a trip to his shop.

Night is best at Cedar by far. 5-15 feet deep in 20-30 feet of water. We did good last week. The grass has taken over the lake right now.

yeah I went out there the other evening and the grass was bad.. caught some bluegill and a red ear tho.. you've got a nice set up there. im going to wait til fall to get on the crappie I believe
