    Default Barren River

Went out Saturday, fishing for me was tough. Wind was from the east and stronger than what was forecast. I only managed 5 keepers. Lake is still up, they are pulling it hard. Water is over the sidewalks below the spillway.

I haven't been there in years but want to go this year. I bad day on the water beats sitting at home. Good luck in the spring.

Jigboy, I think Barren is going to be good this spring. The fish I've been catching have all been better sized. Last year seemed like all I caught was dinks. If the weather cooperates and we don't get a lot of rain should be a good spring.

I remember it as a beautiful lake, but can't say I remember fishing there much as a kid. My uncle used to take me to Barren some but mainly went to Rough and Nolin. Everything I hear about Barren is that it is a great lake for hybrids but I can't stand the taste of them and with four kids, I fish for food.

I might have to check it out soem this spring.
