Barkley lake after dark!!! Limit in 3 hours!!! 4/16

I haven't been out much this year I took a friend out twice and only caught 15 last Saturday afternoon and 21 on Sunday! Had to do something I only do when Saugar fishing.... Yep I bought minnows!!! My friend had never fished before and I thought it would be a good idea! Glad I did! He caught 14 of the bag saterday! Only one one jig!!! Sunday was even!!! I just got home it's 11:30pm and I got in the water at 8:30! Solo trip!! And for the experimental technique I was trying tonight I prefer to be alone that way I'm only getting one jig out of a trees instead of two or three! I was casting the banks with grubs! 3/32 purple head and 2 1/2 inch Kentucky green with flake!!!! Everyone has been worried about no crappy being on this end of the lake but after what I seen tonight the next full moon is will be on!!!! And is will be second to none!!! I caught 20 all females which was weird! No male! Females just came in and eggs are about 1 to 2 weeks away! The biggest was 16 1/4in and the smallest 13! And the best thing about my trip tonight!!!! Not one boat went bye me all I listened to was paper mouth flopping!!! Good luck and give it a try!

Congrats on a fine mess of fish. Night fishing is fun. Only went smallmouth fishing at night so you have given me some food for thought

Hit it again last night and only got 14 between 2 boats but all big females! I don't know why I can't figure out where the males are??? I guess I'm not on any of the spawning banks? I'm hitting all the banks where they spawned last year but I can't find them! Anybody else having trouble finding the males??

We fished eddy creek Sunday and Monday and we caught all big white females in 13-20 fow. We did catch two short fish that I would guess were males. Other than that it was all big mommas.

Ya we too have had a great year for the big ones!!! Slowed down a little the last day or two! Pulling a lot of water doesn't help!
