Another pretty day to be out there. Fish were scattered and seemed a little finicky to me. Wound up with 20 but had to work a little harder for them than I wanted to. No monsters but several thick 14" fish.

Hit a good one off the marina dock
We can't find them either. I have from 20' - 2', docks, flooded bushes, stake beds, gravel banks, casting jigs, spider rigging, cork and minnow. 3 keepers for 2 days. Fished big bear, Jonathan, and sugar bay. Any hip would be appreciated. Thanks.
Wow, nice fish. Been tough in my holes to say the least. Glad to see you have them dialed in!! Just say where you are catching them and I am sure you will have a little company. LOL It has been tough for every fisherman I have talked to the last few days. Looks like a desert out there. Once again you the man !!

I have talked to many long time Ky Lake crappie guys who have said this has been the toughest year in a long time. We too have had mixed results. Have marked THOUSANDS of fish but dang if they'll bite. Some days great and some days basically a handful. Cranks have worked for me and casting deeper brush for Randy. Last saturday was my bonus day for two trips!!!

Our best success came from long linin 13-20 fow. Still somewhat slow but more productive than other methods we had tried. We'll be back down next week to try again. Hope it picks up for y'all. Preferred jig colors were blue thunder and monkey milk.

Those fish came from 9-21fow but most were in 14-15 fow. Hard to give advice when fish are scattered and on the move. One piece of advice I can give though is pick a bay or creek or even a section of one and learn it. This time of year with water temps in 60s every bay on both lakes will have fish. Hopping from bay to bay wastes alot of time and will lead to frustration, especially if you aren't familiar with the quirks of the different areas.

I wouldn't say I have them dialed in but was glad to be able to grind out a mess. Not going to say what bay even though I don't believe it matters much this time of year as long as you know the bay you pick pretty well. You know which one it was or have a pretty good idea I would think, lol. Definitely the hardest I have had to work since back early after the ice thawed and they had a bunch of gates open. Females were pretty aggressive but the males I caught weren't at all. Seemed like all of bumped and swished the jig a bit before they ever picked it up and when they did it was really light. Like bigbaddad I marked a lot of fish I couldn't get to bite. Most of the fish I caught couldn't see on sonar, burrowed in tight in the wood. On the whole I still think the best action is deeper but very seldom fish shallower than 13-14ft so really can't say for sure.
