I know this long winter's wear'n on everybody. I believe this coming weather's Mother Nature's last BIG jab at us for awhile. It looks like the Jet Stream's gonna flatten out a little early next week, and quit pull'n that Yankee Weather south.

Temps are forecast to start a gradual rise by the first of the week. It won't take but a few good sunny days, some rain and Southwest winds to flush this ice outta these bays on the West side of Ky and Barkley Lakes.

We need the lake to come up good during the warm up and break the ice away from the banks. Then let the lake drop quickly to suck the ice out towards the main lake and away from the boat ramps. A couple of days with a stiff West and Southwest wind will help push the ice out of the bays on the West side of the lake. Little Jonathon may have some ice out delays/problems due to the road kinda restricting the ice's way out to open water.

Unfortunately this scenario is gonna leave the lake MUDDY! On the bright side that muddy water will warm quickly! Look for the fish, especially the Black Crappie, to make a quick "in and out" run to shallow water if this happens.

During this process everyone needs to BE CAREFUL!!! This ice is pretty thick and its gonna be bad for a few days as it breaks up and moves out. Don't want anybody get'n hurt plow'n into a thick chunk of ice at 50 mph.

Keep your chins up folks. There's a light at the end of the tunnel. I WILL get off this towboat on 3/19 and I WILL be fish'n on 3/20!!! If I get off early enough I'll be fish'n on 3/19! You can bet on it!!!

Tight line folks.
