Another stinker
Got to go out and fish on Barren again today and I swear we saw a farmer out there trying to plant corn. It was muddy as a clay hole! Tried spider rigging my usual channel and wound up slugging it out with these two bruisers. We finally found about a dozen hungry crappie, of which only three were keepers. Its hard being patient this time of year knowing they should be hitting.

Nice cats. Sorry you had such crappy luck. I went yesterday (sunday - after church) and only caught 2 crappie. both were nice (11"-12") and about a 3lb largemouth. All names were removed to protect the innocent and the fish got a reprieve for the day. It takes about 10 fillets for my crew to eat a decent meal; I hated to let the 2 slabs go, but wasn't gunna dirty the boss lady's kitchen for 4 fillets. We need to get together soon so you can start showing me the ropes on the spider rigging approach.
