There was one back in March, Crappie Pappy & Chucky did like 6 or 7 lake tournament series earlier this year but have not seen anything mentioned about another one. There was some discussion of a tournament on the Tennessee message board back some time ago. Not for sure if it was ever organized.

I would like to have a couple on KY lake
I know they tried to have some on other lakes but I don't think it went so good. Too many of us still have to work for a living.
Would it be possible to have 2-3 tournaments on Kentucky lake 1 early one mid year and one in the fall??
We all had a great time fishing the one last spring The guys done a great job that put it on. I never heard anything negative.

You West KY boys put together a pretty good Shindig, so what's to stop you from putting on a few Fruit Jar Tourneys You can even use the same set of rules that we formulated for this years FJT's. ( http://www.crappie.com/crappie/kentu...y-lakes-dates/ )

And yes, we did have some FJT's on other lakes, and those that were cancelled (Barren/Taylorsville) were because of weather (Barren) and lack of interest (Taylorsville). Cumberland, KY/Barkley, and Green River tourneys went off without a hitch, and had decent participation. Our Spring Fling get together was well attended, also.

Due to health problems of the coordinators, the Fall Brawl at Green had to be cancelled ... but we're having a "fun" tourney in its place.

The biggest problem, if you can call it that, with FJT's is travel/lodging expenses vs possible payout returns from a low $$ entry fee type of tourney ... for those that would have to travel several hours to attend a one day tourney. And of course you have to take into account the various hunting season dates, other tourneys, appointing a weigh-master with access to a digital scale, and the potential for unsafe weather/lake conditions causing a cancellation.

That's no biggie !! Just set a date -- start/stop times -- entry fee/big fish fee -- find a digital scale -- appoint a weighmaster & money holder -- decide on rules (or use the ones we used for this year's FJT's) -- set a minimum limit on number of boats to commit to showing up -- make sure your tourneys aren't in conflict with other series tourneys, opening hunting season dates, holidays, or other functions that might lower the number of participants -- post all the info here -- then go for it.

You might also want to mention it on the state forums of neighboring states, and even in the Crappie Tournaments Forum. You'd want to give possible participants at least a month notice, in advance of the chosen date, in order for them to have time to make plans to attend.

You can make them "anything legal goes" (any method/number of poles) or "specific/custom" (one pole only/no live bait/specific method only) ... choice is yours, to make it as easy or hard as you want it to be.
