Can anyone recommend a website that gives accurate lake water temps? The only ones I find are at the marina and the corps of engineers and neither seem to change. I doubt the water temps are 53 degrees today?
I was hoping to take my boy down and try sneak some fall fishing in. If anyone has any depth recommendations any info would be greatly appreciated. I'll try to pass on a report tomorrow night. Thanks!

Yeah, those sites are WAAYYY behind
Best I can give you is this site : All Products by Site - NOAA's National Weather Service ... and it says GRL is 21deg celsius (69.8deg F.) taken at ~9AM Friday Sept 26th.
This time of year I'd be looking for deep brush (15-25fow).
Luck2ya !! And do give us a report (hopefully with pics of some good fish) !!

Not much to report unfortunately. We were only on the water from 8-12 am today and was never really able to find the pattern. Caught a few in 16-20 fow at 13'. The thermocline was hovering around 20', was never able to find any in that depth. Water temps were around 75. Thinking a couple more weeks?
Went to Barren river Lake last tuesday... temp 75... got in on the morning bite for a few mins before it ended... !!!
Boone .... you might be right about "a couple more weeks".
I find it quite interesting that Barren, GRL, and Cave Run all have about the same water temps (75deg). And with the weather forecast showing mid 70's in the first week of Oct ... those temps aren't going to fall very much, in the mean time.

Bowling Green is giving a high of 68 for this Sat,,, of course that will prob change..lol the fish i located were holding very tight to structure on the bottom at 19 feet, presentation had to be within two feet of either side in order to get a hit on a jig.. after the bite was over the fish were still there, just wouldn't step up..!!
Well Me and the better half are headed to Green river next Friday morning for 3 days lets hope they turn on.
