    Default fishing trip

So i was sitting here thinking about the next fishing trip i want to take, and i have it narrowed down to Barkley lake or Reelfoot. Keep in mind this will not be until spring but which would be better in your opinion? If it were reelfoot we would do a fishing package and it looks like they run 250-350 per person but include boat, bait, ice, and room. but we would be able to drive a more fuel efficient vehicle. On the other hand Barkley the room is 82 a night but then figure in gas for towing vehicle, boat, bait it would probably be pretty close to a trip to reelfoot, so i ask. What is your opinion?

Cannot speak for Barkley, but Reelfoot is great. I will say this though, if your boat is already set up for crappie fishing, that is a major advantage. The boats you get at Reelfoot are Jon boats. Tiller steer w/o trolling motor. Blue Bank is the only place to stay. The back deck is what you really pay for. So, although I go to Reelfoot every year, I would go to Barkley with my own boat if it were already setup. Just my 2 cents.

If you want a unique experience, go to Reelfoot.

Went to Reelfoot 2 years ago. pretty lake reasonable prices, but when we went no one was catching much, even the guides were lucky to catch many, spider rigging with a lot of poles. They need to put some rules there to help the fish numbers to come back and quality of fish.
