Default Waverly Park Lake, Louisville Info needed please.

My girlfriends 19 yr old son to best of my knowledge has never wetted a line and I thought this Sunday I`d take him fishing for the first time. They live close by Waverly Park Lake and I thought we`d go there. Sorta break him in easy and do some bank fishing, since when I googled the lake didn't see any ramps.... ..... just wondering if anyone could tell me a couple spots around the lake that they have picked up some crappie, not asking for anyones hotspots just a few places around the lake that we might pickup a few. Since I`ve never fished the lake I know nothing about it. Hate to go home empty handed, specially it being his first time out. Thanks for anyones help !!

I doubt you'll find Crappie there, but take some wax worms and red worms and follow the path around the lake and look for well worn spots at the edge of the water. Might only find blue gill but on ultra light tackle they can be fun to play with.
sorry I can't be of more help, but I wish you luck on getting a young man hooked on fishing.

Waverly does have a few crappie...years ago we would go in mid April and catch them on the spawn...I'd say they will be hard to find as warm as it is..they stock it a time or 2 each year with catfish may be able to get into them...it also has blue gill and redear of decent size...sorry I can't be more help

I also saw the crappie post back late Feb. or early march I think. But any Crappie there will be in the deepest point which isn't very deep. It may be 20 feet deep out from the dam about 50 yards best I can recall from when they dug it out many years ago. Wannabe does that sound right?

I know it's been quite a while ago that it was dug out.
