    Default Lake Herndon near Russellville

Can anyone tell me the fishing conditions there? Is there a boat ramp? Are there any regs I should know specific to that lake?

Can't tell ya anything about the fishing/conditions ... but there is a ramp on the South end of the lake, at the end of Stuart Smotherman Rd. (Google Maps shows a boat idling towards the ramp)

On another website I did read where a guy reportedly caught some nice size Redear & Bluegill, and some 1-2lb Bass from there, around this time last year.

I would hope there would be a sign designating the rules & limits, if they do not correspond with state rules/limits ... but, I'd call the KDFWR just to be on the safe side.

Also, 4yrs ago the University of Ky placed 1000 paddlefish (Spoonbill) in the lake ... for the harvest of their eggs (Ky Caviar). I would think they'd be listed as a "release immediately" fish, should you happen to "catch" one of them.

That's all I could find out through searching the web.

    ... cp

This is known locally as Boy Scout Lake. You have to be a paid member ($150 paid to Boy Scouts of America in Loiusville,Ky) to even access the lake. It is trolling motor only with Statewide regs applying.

Really? I thought it belonged to Russellville. That seems like a lot to pay, I guess the lake doesn't get much fishing if folks have to pay that much. I'll probably pass then and go some where else.
