Default I'm living up to my handle

Went full bore crappie fishing today in Poplar Creek using jigs tipped with minnows and wham first fish of the day was a redear. I'm jinxed on crappie but I plan on fixing that tomorrow. I did manage a few nice redears in four feet over gravel...seems early for them?? Was shocked we caught them because they hit minnows.

I did find 54.2 degree surface temps today. Anyone want to help an ole boy with a wife and five year old out? Surly they'll be headed towards the banks in the next few days of warmth?

I've fished Barkley the last few days close to you and I'm still catching them deep.

Thanks guys, I guess the weather has them scattered. I'm going to crank it up tomorrow and see where the road takes us. You all using jigs or minnows?

Minnows, tried black and chartreuse tubes, no luck on those.
