I don't know if any of you guys watched the Kentucky Afield episode last week, but there was a blurp about a fish habitat project that was going to happen on Cave Run Lake this summer. I called the hatchery and talked to the biologist in charge of the operation. We are looking for donations and anyone who would like to help with the project looking at beginning the operation in June and going through August. Any ideas for structure, placement of the structure and assistance would be appreciated. I fish Cave Run a lot and there is some nice crappie in there and it is a wonderful place to have family vacations. I know there is a CUSA tourney this year and usually a CKCA tourney however not this year. There are about 10 or 15 brush pile and PVC spots that are given on the fish habitat section of the KGAF website at this time. The structure that we put in will also be put on the site for everyone to use and know where it is. Other than this opportunity it is illegal to put anything in the lake to provide structure and habitat for the fish. Just asking if anyone would like to help or has anything they would like to donate any donations can be picked up. Any questions, comments, concerns you can call the fishery at 606-783-8650, or you can contact me I'll answer anything I can; I'm waiting on an email for the dates for building the structure and placement dates; but it is not to early to start recruiting and gathering supplies. Thanks, Rich
