    Default Kentucky Lake 1/1/14

Cold, muddy, falling water isn't the best recipe for success, but still better than working the first day of the new year. Worked hard for 13.

It was a struggle Buddy, I'm sure someone caught some somewhere but there was several goose eggs and ones at the ramp around quitting time. Wind was pretty tough mid-morning.

Good Job Bud! Good meeting you yesterday.

Me and a buddy went out for a couple of hours and hit a few brush piles and wound up with 8 NICE fish. It was tough fish'n.

I think we had a little shad kill that may have hurt the bite. Saw what looked like a few floating around the wind blown banks. The fish I cleaned were FULL of shad.

    Were you 2 pole'n?

I only caught 5 at Percy Priest in a couple of hours. I thought it would be pretty clear but it still had quite a bit of color in it. You had to earn them yesterday. Caught 4 in 30 minutes, 1 here, 1 there and then they quit biting for me about 3:30. Finally found a couple of good brushpiles right before dark (new to the lake) and picked up 1 more. Still enjoyed being out there. Even on days I don't catch many fish, if I can find a few good waypoints, I count it a good day.
