KY C.c Fruit Jar Tournament Rules discussion ...

Guys ... I'm not the one "making" the rules, I'm just collecting all the opinions/concerns & trying to address them as fair to everyone concerned, as I can. We get all the rules right & agreed upon by the majority of potential participants, then all the rest of the things necessary won't be a big deal.

As far as I can tell, the only sticking point we have is the "distance" rule. May I suggest that we make that rule read : 50' from a "stationary" competitors boat ... * stationary meaning tied off, anchored, or not actively/constantly moving by use of trolling motor (as in trolling or spider rigging) That way, we don't need a distance rule for the act of trolling/pushing/spider rigging, other than a safe & courteous distance.

For anyone wanting to go to fish the Ky lake tourney thats on this side of the state, if they work it right the biggest expense is the fuel to get there and back. If some would buddy up with other members, cabins are cheap. Example, say if three teams, 6 people went in on a cabin at Ky lake cottages at $100 per night. Say if you wanted to get there early Fri morning and prefish alittle, stay the night and fish the tourney the next day. Then left to come home after the tourney, well it only cost $17 ea. Or if everyone decided to stay a extra night to just fish some the next day, then it cost $34 ea. Two years ago when me and Tim, with a few other went to the classic, we stayed a week and i think it cost us all $115 ea. I had more fun sitting around after each day of fishing and just b.s than i did fishing. Plus you get your own bed so you would not have to wake up in the middle of the night hearing Slabeye yelling, get the net:Rofl.

I know that when we fish some people will not travel long distances to lakes, so everyone will not fish every tournament. So we try to make it as fair as possible. Looking at profiles the people voting are split all most dead even between cental and western ky. With a couple from eastern ky. As of now the top lakes are
1 green river central ky
2 ky lake west ky
3 cumberlan central ky
4 barren west ky
5 Taylorsville central ky
6 rough river west ky
Fish the lakes in this order and it splits the tournaments between cental and western ky and also alternates them.

Irvin Cobb in blood river has cabins $90 to $110 and the $110 are large and this is also a good part of the lake. Also people with smaller boats can fish without leaving blood river and getting on the main lake.Lots of good fishing in blood and no need to run. They have a boat ramp, minnow, and slips. We have stayed there before not fancy but clean.

that would be ok high bridge but what about cumberland? if they bring that lake up before we fish it, it will be very dangerous, the first ckca classic was at cumberland the year we had that big flood there was tree and logs as far as you could see, for that reason i think we should do that one early as possible.

You can pay in advance OR at the ramp (prior to start time). Cash money is acceptable at any time ... if checks are used for advanced payment, they would need to be in the hands of the Tournament Official 72hrs in advance of the tournament date, so they could be cashed. That is, of course, if we are going to accept payment of entry fees by any other means than cash.

We "could" probably get a list of KY C.c members to use for verification ... but, that would exclude members of other states wanting to participate, unless we knew in advance & could verify their membership. What we might have to do is have a sign up post and a cut-off time for signing up, then use that list as verification at the weigh-in.

i dont like the ideal of paying by personal check, i would say cash or money order.
