if you find out let me know and I'll complain. Like everyone else there I thought it was awful cheap of the state parks to do that. If they charge rental for the pavilion they should at least have the restrooms open.

We had a great time at the fall braw. BUT there were 2 women with us as well as other women in attendance. There were no bathrooms available at either the dock or the pavilion. We paid to rent the pavilion and they would not open the bathrooms, we need to complain. I travel with my work and stop every day at blue licks battlefield state park and use their bathrooms. There is never anyone in the park but the bathrooms are open. Green river state park was full but no bathrooms open. We need to bring this to someones attention and ask for our money back. Who can we contact to file a complaint? Every member should complain to the person over this park. It was agreat event except for that one problem. Thanks for any help.

Sorry, I thought the word was passed around that the bathrooms were closed, and anyone needing such facilities could have gone up and used the bathroom at our cabin.
The Pavilion was rented during the govt shutdown, and only by a stroke of luck did we even get it at all. The Marina was also closed, so the bathrooms at the fish cleaning station were also locked up. COE runs the Pavilion & launch ... and we will make sure, from now on, that the facilities are available. It was our understanding that the bathrooms were locked due to some vandalism in the past, but I do agree that the Pavilion rental should have included unlocked bathrooms. We'll not let that happen in future Fall Brawl events ... even if we have to have the event earlier in the season !!
My sincere apologies to the ladies, and the gentlemen, that may have suffered any inconvenience on account of the lack of restroom facilities.

I don't see this as being your fault CP, nor do I think anyone else does. You did an outstanding job putting this all together and you should be applauded.I do see it as another government screw up and as soon as they get that seventh person signed up for Obama care I'm sure they'll look into this matter. Pappy you have my vote for president, I don't care which party you belong to.

This was not your problem cp great job. Just wondering why a park with no traffic has open bathrooms but a busy park with a pavilion we paid for had no bathroom. If they were not going to open the bathrooms we should not of had to pay.

In hindsight, we probably wouldn't have had to pay for the Pavilion ... but, not due to the closed restrooms. We would have just had to rely on luck, that no one else would have been using the Pavilion ... and no COE person would have checked us for a permit. Chucky rented the Pavilion well in advance of the day of the Brawl, just so we'd be assured of having a place to set up & hold the fish fry. He was not aware of the restrooms closure, when renting the Pavilion. According to what he told me, the COE was not going to rent the Pavilion to us, at first. As I stated before, it was during the shutdown ... and according to Chucky, the lady he spoke to about the rental was in the process of closing the office & sending people home. She only agreed to the rental at the last moment. I'm sure the restroom closure was a oversight, albeit a most inconvenient one.
We learned from our mistakes, and that situation will not inconvenience us, again.

I have spoke with Lori Brewster, public affairs with the Army corps of Engineers to find out why the restrooms were closed. She spoke to the lady that rented me the shelter that day, which was on the day the gov shut down. She remembered speaking to me cause we talked for awhile about the shut down. She honestly told Lori that she believes she did not tell me the restroom would be closed. Because of what was going on and telling people goodbye as they walked out the door, she had alot going on that day and completely forgot to tell me. The dates that the restrooms are usually closed are the fourth Monday in October till the first Friday in April. Well because of the gov shut down was on October 1, the restrooms got closed and never reopened. Mrs. Brewster apologized for any inconvenience that this caused. She also has offered us a free pavilion rental for 2014. It can be used for any shelter at Green River lake, at any time, as long as it is not already rented. I told her i would contact her as soon as we have a confirmed date for next year.
Thanks Chuck great job. Now we know when to schedule so the restrooms are available. I hate to complain about such a great event. But this is a family event and the women can't do like the men and find a tree. And it is good to see the families participate in these events.
