Anyone been doing any fall fishing at T-Ville? I am usually only in a deer stand at this time of the year but wanna run the boat some again before I put it up for the year. Had a great spring at T-Ville and was wondering how it was going there now.

Hey, Jigboy ... I can't personally verify it, but I've heard that the Crappie are being caught 6-10 feet deep in 15-20 fow ... on minnows ... mouths of the creeks/coves. I read this on another website I'm a member on, and the info is usually pretty straight up.

It also jives with what I remember Oct fishing at T-ville as being like ... and even into Nov. ... back when I used to fish there regularly. Should be decent fishing for awhile yet, unless this cold spell & rain start the lake to turning over. Lake is still at Summer Pool (minus a few inches) ... water temp is ~ 75deg from surface to 25ft deep ... & the oxygen levels start falling off quickly at ~ 15ft deep. (according to COE report)

I'm muzzle load hunting this weekend but will try to get out there next week. I will let you know how I do or what I find out. I have never done the fall fishing ever but here a lot of the fish move back to same areas as the spring run. Is this true? I also here I am better off doing the spider rig then the long line trolling. I'm intrigued by the video I watched on the guide on KY Lake trolling the large crank baits. He was doing it during the summer months off secondary creek channels in like 25 feet of water. It would seem like you could do this in the winter. Am I wrong?

It's my understanding that the fish will follow the Shad back into the creeks, around this time of year. Can't really expound upon the virtues of spider rigging over long line trolling, this time of year, as I haven't done enough of either technique to make the call.

I'm of the impression that pullin/pushin crankbaits is more of a >75deg water temp technique. I don't know as Crappie would be froggy enough to jump on a crank doing 1.5 - 2mph, when the water temps get low. I'd have to defer to someone that's more experienced with crankin', as I've only experienced it one time. As I understand it, though, the reason it's successful is because the fish are suspended among the Shad schools, out in the open water areas. And you have to have all the brushpiles in the area marked, so as to avoid them ... or else have a lot of cranks you don't mind losing

Makes since. OK. I will keep on eye out for a big sale and see if I can't stock up on some cranks before next summer. I will hopefully get out this next week and will report on what I find out. Thanks for the info.
